UPS SUCKS
.
.
.
.
.

And here's why:  EVERY time I get a package delivered, it looks like this (or worse):
.

This box contained a * rare find * musical instrument which was packed VERY well.
Of course, UPS goes to any length to make sure all packages that I get are damaged, inside and out.
.
At this very moment, I've waited ALL day for the inspector to show up.  They told me that it would be between 9AM and 7PM, effectively wasting my entire day waiting around for them.
It's now 6:57 PM.. Think they'll make it?
When I called, UPS didn't even ask any information.  The lady simply stated that they had until 7PM to get there.
Lucky for me an automated opinion poll kicked in after the call.
Heh heh heh.
.
Now you may be saying "this probably only happens with big packages"...
WRONG !
.
The package before this was a paperback book I needed for school.  I don't have a picture, but believe me, the twisted ruin that they left on the porch had to be replaced, after considerable hassle. They wanted to take the book that I needed for school in 2 days, and didn't know when (or if) they would return it.
I told them to forget that, and when I called the main office, they told me that no one needed to take it if its value was less than $100.
I got my replacement over halfway through the semester.

2002 UPDATE

Well, it's now 7 months since the hassle started. Here's an update. I found out that the person from ebay that sold me the item lied to me about the insurance.. There was none .. So, taking a chance, I took the item in to be repaired. Amazingly the bill was under $100. I was told by a UPS employee that they would have no problem reimbursing me for the bill if I paid for it and the faxed them a copy of the bill. That was August 2001. Yes, you guessed it, NO PAYMENT FROM UPS. After contacting them several times, a worker that didn't really want to even take the time to talk to me informed me that the SHIPPER was ALWAYS the one reimbursed! No amount of explanation seemed to make them understand how ridiculous that was. YES, send the money to the person that LIED about having insurance on the item in the first place. SURE, get ME to pay for it and then send THEM the money. BRILLIANT !

I WILL NEVER SEND A PACKAGE UPS AS LONG AS I LIVE ! BE WARNED !
